Position Summary

Cardiac Sonographer- Echocardiographer

Permanent - Full Time

(80 hours per fortnight with ADO)

Ballarat Health Services is seeking an experienced ASAR accredited and enthusiastic Cardiac Sonographer to join our friendly and supportive team. Studies performed include TTE (including Paediatrics and neonatal), TOE, Stress Echo and Contrast.   The successful applicant will be responsible for producing high quality echocardiograms including ICU/CCU/ED examinations.   Previous experience teaching Trainees and Paediatric Echo would be an advantage.  Training in Paediatric/neonatal Echo is available.


This position will be graded depending on experience and includes salary packaging.  The ability to work from Monday to Friday rostered through the departmental standard hours of 8.00am to 6.00pm and to participate in an on call roster is required.

Selection Criteria Essential: Eligibility for membership of the ASAR as a Cardiac Sonographer
Desirable: Recognised post-graduate qualification in Echocardiography
Desirable: Previous experience teaching trainees in Echocardiography would be advantageous
Essential: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Essential: Adherence to the mission and goals of hospital and department
Essential: Sound organisational and problem solving skills
Essential: Ability to be able to work as a team member.
